“(name)!! (name)!!” Hearing some knocking and a loud voice at the door, you stood up and opened it. The person standing at the door was none other than Alfred F. Jones, one of the star athletes at your college, Eliatha.

Smiling as you greeted the enthusiastic jock, you asked, “So, do you have something to ask me, Alfred?” The American replied, “I need help with some explanation for calculus… I’m still no good at this, you see.” Seeing that you were not so bad at math, people often asked you to explain.

“Sure, Alfred. Do come in.” You opened the door, and asked Alfred to take off his shoes. As you walked in with Alfred, you saw that Alfred was gaping at the size of your home. You gestured for Alfred to sit, and he sat on the sofa whilst you settled down on the couch. “How can I help you, Alfred?”

“I’m having some problems where I don’t really understand the formulas and calculations, you see…” Placing your chin on your hand, you nodded. “Well, I used to have trouble with those too. Do you have your book with you?”

Alfred took out his Calculus book, which, as you expected, was way too thick. “So, we are around here when Professor last gave us his lecture...” You trailed of and stared at the pages, scanning the paragraphs and diagrams of problems, trying to think about which one Alfred would have the most trouble with.

“Uhh… dude?” Breaking out of your concentration, you faced Alfred. “Yes, Alfred?” Alfred gave you a grin, and said, “Just call the hero Al. It’s better that way.” Returning his sincere smile once again, you say, “Yes, Al.”

*Alfred POV*

That smile could just sustain me for life… I just love that smile. Maybe she doesn’t really remember, but I met her before college. I remember my first day of kindergarten where I was scared of other people who surrounded me. I understood as a child, that I attract people because of my personality, but I find it overwhelming at times. And it was the same for me when I entered that classroom and introduced myself.

But there was one cute little girl who was isolated in the corner of the room. The first day of school, everyone came and crowded around me, but she was the only one who had mysterious sparkling (e/c) eyes, as if she were analyzing everything that was around her. Nevertheless, she came to my rescue after seeing all the other young children around me.

“Everyone, please can you give me a chance to talk to Alfred?” Hearing the quiet voice, everyone made way for her, and she stepped towards me. “Welcome to our school, Alfred. I hope we can be good friends…” And then she extended her hand, gesturing that I should shake hers. Although I was grateful for her assistance and reached out to shake her hand, everyone looked at her with fear in their eyes. And then the whispering happened.

“Don’t touch her… She’s going to curse you…” “She looked into the future! She’s a witch!”

Despite hearing the dark minds of children at work, the girl’s alluring eyes persuaded me to shake her hand, but when I did, she unexpectedly pulled me out of the small classroom and out into the hallway. “I'm sorry, Alfred. Other people just don’t really like me…” The small voice, and the shivering small form of the girl before me made me want to protect her.

“Hey, so what’s your name?” She looked up at me, with her eyes, and replied with a shaky voice, “My name’s (name). (name) (last name).” Seeing that (name) was still upset, I attempted cheer her up by saying, “There’s no need to cry! The hero is here and he will protect you!” And when she did smile and say, “Can I call you Al then?", I felt relief washing over me. Perhaps it was then that I fell for her, but who would know that a childhood crush would last this long?

But then I found out about it. Her powers… to see into the future. I found out from other people that (name) was able to see into the future. Running around the halls, trying to find her, I opened the door to our classroom and saw her sitting on the chair reading a book. As she turned around to see me, soaked in sweat, she smiled gently at me and asked, “What is it, Al?” I, whose small frame was panting at the door, looked at her with betrayed eyes.

“Why? Why didn’t you tell me about your power?” Her small body froze, and she started to shake. “I’m sorry, Al… I thought you would hate me because of it.” But I still didn’t understand. “Why? Aren’t we friends? I’m not your hero?” But tears are starting to form in her beautiful eyes, as she continued, “That day when I first met you Al, I saw an alternate future. Where you were hurt by others. I couldn’t stand it, so I tried to change it. But changing doesn’t always work.” She tried to take a big breath, and tears start running down her face. “But I didn’t only see that. I saw you and your big brother Arthur, living apart and hating each other… I couldn’t tell you…”

The words coming out of her sounded like a nightmare. I could’t stand it. “There’s no way big brother Arthur and me would be apart!” But after a few years that I spent with her… and after I transferred… Her words came back to haunt me. Arthur left me… and I cursed her and her “sight”. I never went back to see her, and when I did go back to visit the town, I avoided her.

But when I met her again… in Eliatha… Her sparkling eyes, her charming face, her flowing (h/c) hair…  I wanted to be her hero once more. It wasn’t her fault that she saw what she did; it was my fault for blaming her. I don’t need help with calculus… I just wanna be near her and confess to her today about the feelings I had about the past and about her.

Now that I think about her “sight"… I remember hearing her talk about a certain image of the future...

*Normal POV*

After a while of teaching Alfred calculus, you found out that he was a great learner. As long as you worded or explained correctly, he would understand you and do each problem diligently. It seems that Alfred is secretly a diligent worker…

“Hey, dude. Can I ask you something?” But when you faced Alfred, you saw a distant look in his clear blue eyes which made you felt hurt, but you didn’t understand why. “Do you still have your ability to look into the future?” The sudden question hit you like a concrete wall. “How did you-“ How did he know that? I never told anyone in Eliatha, except for Elizabetha and Lili!!

Your pale face and horrified expression made it clear for Alfred. “It seems you really forgot about me, (name)… You used to call me Al back then too..” And now your memories of your childhood rushed passed you, making you clutch your head, the excruciating pain gripping it. The pain was bad enough to silence any screams of pain that escaped your lips. Cold sweat ran down your forehead, and your breathing picked up its speed. Alfred rushed towards you, cradling you in his arms. “(name)!! (name)!!”

But as Alfred shouted your name, the pain stopped after what felt like an eternity. Slowly lowering your arms, you looked at Alfred with tear-filled eyes. “Al…Why are you here now? Don’t you hate me for telling you that Arthur was going to leave you? So why are you back to see me again? Do you want to hurt me?”
But Alfred shook his head. “(name), I’m sorry for hurting your feelings. I didn’t mean to.” Your clenched throat prevented you from replying.

“I was just a kid, who didn’t understand anything. You seeing into my future wasn’t your fault. I shouldn’t have blamed you.” Seeing that you were still upset, Alfred started to stroke your head, running his fingers through the soft hair, soothing you. “I’m sorry if you hate me now, (name)… It’s fine if you hate me too. I was such a kid! I wasn’t your hero… I was more like a villain…”

With Alfred’s remorseful expression and sad voice, you reached out to touch his face. “I don’t hate you Alfred. My memories of the past don’t really matter to me anymore, since you are here with me now.” You wrapped your arms around Alfred, and he embraced you. “(name)… I’m so sorry. I won’t do it again.” And now it was your turn to console Alfred.

“Al, it’s fine.” Looking at Alfred in the eyes, you started to see that dream again. That man in the dream…

“Al?” “Hmm?” “Did I ever tell you about a dream where I meet a man in the future?” Alfred’s eyes showed recognition immediately. “Yeah, you told me that before. What about the dream?” Sitting up, you said, “According to my house’s legend, one will have the ability to see their fated lover in a dream. Seems like that man will be the guy I’ll marry.” Finishing off, you turned around to face Alfred, who wore a happy expression, but his eyes contradict himself.

“Al, that man… I feel like I met him before.” Alfred quickly pressed you for answers. “Who is it? Do you know him? Is he… a hero, like me?” His eagerness made you feel rather happy. He was like that child you met that day in the classroom, and you knew the answer to his questions. “Al… I can’t tell you. It’s a secret.” The drooping of the clear blue eyes made you want to stroke his head and console him like a kid. You decided to give in to Alfred’s dejected puppy face and the pity you felt for the poor guy.

“Just kidding. It’s you. I can’t see the man’s face clearly until now, because I tried to forget about you, Al.” Hearing that he was your destined person, Alfred jumped to his feet with you in his arms, shouting, “Thank God!! I love you (name)!! More than anything in the whole entire world.”

After his moment of excitement and running around with you in his arms, Alfred settled down on the couch, still clutching onto your body. “(name)?” “Hmm?”
“I don’t really need help with calculus. I just wanna say how I feel… I love you (name).” Placing a small kiss on his cheek and leaning back onto his body, you replied, “I love you too, Al.”

———Extended Ending———

“So you tricked me, saying that you didn’t know how to do calculus? Couldn’t you find a better excuse?” Alfred blushed. “Well, when we did math together in kindergarten, I wasn’t really the best at math… so I thought you would recognize me if I used that excuse…” The intense blush as Alfred averted your eyes made you giggle and wrap your arms around his neck. “I love you, Al.” “I love you too, (name).”
Well, what is wrong with me? I keep using amnesia with America! Way too cliché for my own taste. I hope that you will all enjoy this piece, though I feel that the ending is a bit rushed. America is a little bit too OOC. Sorry if that bothers any of you. I shall now go on and work on the ones. :D (Big Grin)

Hetalia and its characters belong to Himaruya sensei, this plot belongs to me, and you probably are being glommed by America, so... I'll assume that you are his. America (The Hero) [V2]
